Talking Inclusively: October 2018

Welcome to Talking Inclusively, a monthly series designed by PFLAG National’s Straight for Equality program to create conversation about intersectionality, LGBTQ issues, inclusion and more! Each month we’ll offer an article on diverse topics and suggest a few questions that you can use to lead a discussion focused on how we can make space that is more welcoming to everyone.

Have feedback about how your conversation went? Run across an article you’d like us to consider? Let us know by e-mailing info@straightforequality.org.

Questions for Discussion:

  1. Have you ever heard of Revry and/or any of the original content mentioned in this article? If so, how did you learn about it? If not, why do you think that is the case?

  2. The author notes that Revry offers original content in Mandarin and calls out a web-series about a young lesbian woman in India. How important do you think it is for LGBTQ people to have access to content in their first and/or primary language?

  3. Revry is offering its services in many countries where being LGBTQ is a punishable crime. What, if any, responsibilities do you think the company has to users and subscribers in terms of their personal safety?
